The aim of the Association is to promote the development of young people between the ages of 5 ¾ and 25 in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

The Method of achieving the Aim of the Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law, and guided by adult leadership.

There are five areas on this website dedicated to young people - one for each of the five age ranges or 'Sections' in Scouting.
These are:
Beaver Scouts who are aged 5 ¾ to 8
Cub Scouts who are aged 8 to 10 ½
Scouts who are aged 10 ½ to 14
Explorer Scouts who are aged 14 to 18
Scout Network who are aged 18 to 25
