Royal Kingston has 22 Beaver Scout Colonies offering Scouting to boys and girls aged between 5 ¾ and 8 years.
Beaver Colonies meet for an hour each week during which time the Beavers might play games, make things, sing, act, meet people or learn about the world around them. They also have a chance to earn badges to wear on their uniforms
Most Colonies have occasional outings, invite interesting visitors to their meetings and take part in activities with other Colonies.
Some also offer the chance to take part in twenty-four hour Sleepovers so the Beavers can spend a night away from home and learn to cope without Mum or Dad.
All activities are based on encouraging the Beavers to work and play together, to share, to be tolerant and to be part of a team. In fact a “fun” introduction to the principles of Scouting.
