Malden “Try Something new” Challenge Afternoon!
On Saturday 25th March, 2nd Malden invited some groups to participate in their “try something new” challenge afternoon. A scooter rally followed by a game or two of Matball.
Instructions had been passed out to Cub Leaders to select their team and fine tune their scooters. Safety was a key element and all racers had to be wearing gloves, knee and elbow pads and a crash helmet.
The time set aside was 1 hour to race around the course with each Cub only being allowed to complete 5 laps before a pit stop. Each change of riders required the team to change the knee pads and elbow pads.
Each Team was cheered on by their parents and follow riders and the final results were, in good old fashioned reverse order….

With
the weather suddenly turning against us, the Matball was postponed and the Cubs
then had a chance to cheer their leaders and parents in a quick 5 minute race.
1st Kingston Hill and 2nd Malden B completing 13 laps in
this time.
Here we see the winning Team collecting their trophy. All in all a great afternoon activity organised by 2nd Malden and their team, which was a safe and fun. The parents could then look forward to a quiet night as they all would have slept very well!
